As a little girl, people always told me how beautiful my hair was. In fact they would say I was blessed with curly hair that many people would “kill” for. But I never understood why anyone would want curly or wavy hair because although it can be pretty, the frizziness that comes with it is truly a pain.
Quite frankly, straight hair is a lot easier to handle. It rarely requires frizz serums, it’s easy to detangle, looks shiny and sleek without a lot of product, and most importantly, you can brush it without looking like Hagrid from Harry Potter. Â
After countless failed attempts to obtain that beautiful sleek hair, I decided to start to love my curls. But first, I had to find a way to get rid of the frizz that accompanied it. Here are my top five affordable drugstore hair products to combat frizz:
- John Frieda® Frizz Ease® Extra Strength 6 Effects Serum – 1.69oz: $8.49
This product truly changed the way I view my hair!  Make sure to apply to towel dried hair for best results and only a dime-sized dollop is necessary. This product is ranked number one, because the formula holds for over 24 hours without making your hair appear greasy! It also doesn’t change the texture of your curls like some mousses that make hair feel coarse. Over all, I had the best experience with this product.

2.Harmon Face Values Frizz Erase Hair Serum 2 oz: $6.49
This product also works best when applied with a small drop rubbed into the palms on towel dried hair. I had a lot of success with this product and would recommend it because it holds my frizz. Sometimes it does leave hair feeling a little stiff and heavy when you use too much of it, which I personally dislike.

   3. Giovanni Frizz Be Gone Hair Serum 2.75 oz. bottle: $7.60
This product is really useful if you’re only going out for a few hours and want coverage for a little while due to its light feeling, which is great! But since it does wear off after about three hours, I wouldn’t recommend using it for all day affairs. Luckily, the bottle is small enough to store in your purse for a quick touch-up!

 4. OGX Hydrate + Defrizz Kukui Oil Anti-frizz Hydrating Oil: $8
The hydrating oil leaves hair feeling healthy and de-frizzed! Some believe the bottle is too small for $8 but it will last a long time because just one drop is enough to tame your frizz all day long! The only problem was that it didn’t work very well on my roots, because it can leave hair very oily on top. My hair frizzes mostly on the top of my head so it wasn’t a great fit for me. However, if you struggle with dead ends or frizziness at the ends of your hair, this product is definitely meant for you!

  5. Bed Head – Get Twisted Anti Frizz Finishing Spray: $14.66
Get Twisted Anti Frizz Finishing Spray is a great product for long lasting hold and frizz. It definitely does the trick for maintaining sleek and shiny hair. Because this product is a spray instead of a serum it’s less messy and easier to apply but if you miss a spot, your hair will look uneven and frizzy in places. Also it is one of the most expensive products on our list.

I hope all of these products make a difference on how you feel about your hair! I know they did for me!
