In 2021, after nearly 10 years together, The Neighbourhood went on a brief hiatus. They had two tour dates in America in 2021, and after their second show they cancelled the remaining tour dates in other countries and disbanded. Towards the end of 2025, they announced a new album: Ultrasound and a world tour. As an avid fan of the band for years, I was eagerly awaiting their return and won the Ticketmaster War to see them at Madison Square Garden on April 14th, 2026. I saw the band prior to this in 2021, in Forest Hills right before they disbanded and that was an incredible show.

Madison Square Garden was sold out, and they played a total of 27 songs, adding a new song to the setlist: “Compass” from the album Hard to Imagine The Neighbourhood Ever Changing. Being a longtime fan, I personally really enjoyed the setlist. They did a good mix of their older songs, newer songs and more popular songs. I do wish they played some more older songs but I can’t complain about what we got at all. Throughout the show, the band was adding a new song every few shows. So, I anticipated an added song to my show because we were the last date in America until the end of the year.

I sat in section 104, row 18, seats 5 & 6 and had very good seats for around $140 each, however, I found that the people around me were not too into the music or knew the words to the songs that were not popular. I definitely was one of the louder ones in my section, some people were sitting down or just dancing along without singing. The show included visuals for some songs on the screens behind them, making it a little hard to see them from my section without the camera view. Besides that, the experience was really good. To get to Madison Square Garden from campus, my friend and I drove to Secaucus Junction, parked there and took a 13 minute train into the city. The drive to Secaucus was about 1 hour and 20 minutes, which is similar to the train ride it would have been. We just decided driving would be easier, and this was a very easy way to get into the city from campus.

People were wearing a lot of black, boots and skirts. The outfits all definitely matched an unspoken theme. I wore a sparkly black open back, apron style shirt with a black mini skirt that had a slit in the side and tall black boots. A lot of people also wore merch, t-shirts were around $40 and the hoodies were more expensive. Overall, the concert was worth the years of waiting and I am so glad the band is back together. The Neighbourhood is returning to New York at The Barclay’s Center in November and I already purchased tickets!
