Singer Taylor Swift is singing a new love story this time with Kansas City Chiefs tight end, Travis Kelce. Swift shocked fans after attending the Chiefs home game against the Cincinnati Bears on Sept. 24, 2023. The Eras Tour singer was seen seated in Kelce’s box with the tight end’s mom, Donna Kelce, happily cheering when Number 87 scored a touchdown. However, Kelce has been planning to be Swift’s 87 for quite some time now.
On June 29, 2023, Kelce made friendship bracelets to hand out at an NFL camp for upcoming tight ends. According to CBS Sports, Kelce revealed that he was, “Taking a page out of Taylor Swift’s book.” Almost a month later, Kelce announced that he attended the Eras Tour at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri. He made a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it to hand to the singing sensation but was unable to give it to her. “I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs she sings,” Kelce revealed on an episode of the “New Heights” podcast that dropped on July 26. He hosts this podcast with his brother, Philadelphia Eagles center, Jason Kelce.
On Sept. 14, 2023, rumors began spreading about Swift and Kelce hanging out. Of course, people were running to Jason Kelce in attempts to discover the inside scoop. Jason Kelce did not confirm any rumors, but also did not deny any. On Sept. 20, Jason jokingly confirmed that his little brother is dating the 12-time Grammy Awards winner. “It’s hard to answer because I don’t really know a lot about what’s happening with Travis’ love life,” Jason reported on the “WIP Morning Show.” He added that he typically stays out of his brother’s business, later adding, “But having said that, man, I think they’re doing great, and I think it’s all 100 percent true and I hope that this thing goes the mile.”
On Sept. 21, 2023, while on the “Pat McAfee Show,” Travis Kelce discussed the rumors and admitted that he invited Swift to one of his games. “I threw it out there, I threw the ball in her court and I told her you know, I’ve seen you rock the stage in Arrowhead you might have to come see me rock the stage in Arrowhead and see which one is a little more lit. We will see what happens in the near future,” said the NFL star.
Kelce successfully threw the ball as Swift attended the Kansas City Chiefs game. The Chiefs beat the Bears 41-0 to improve the team’s 2-1 record. After the game, Kelce and Swift were seen leaving the stadium together. The pair walked side by side, Kelce wearing a “1989” inspired outfit, and Swift wearing a Chiefs zip-up. Kelce and Swift were spotted riding away in a black convertible, that Kelce later referred to as “The Getaway Car,” in the “New Heights” podcast that dropped on Sept. 27. Kelce reportedly rented out a restaurant for a private after game party for Taylor Swift and his teammates.
Although Swift has once claimed, “In your life, you’ll do things greater than dating the boy on the football team,” a source has told Entertainment Tonight, “Taylor Swift likes that Travis Kelce ‘pursued her’ and the two are having a ‘great time getting to know each other.’” Swift is reportedly expected to attend the Chief’s game against the New York Jets at the MetLife Stadium on Oct. 1, 2023.
