As Spring approaches and the Earth comes back to life, it’s the perfect time to bring romance back to life! In the dead of winter, it’s very easy to lose the motivation to plan creative dates. Once the holidays pass, there’s not much to do other than throw on some sweatpants and watch movies. While there’s nothing wrong with fitting some cuddle time into your relationship, the warmer weather calls for more adventure! Whether you’re looking to bask in the warm weather or admire the beauty of nature coming back to life, here are some perfect dates for the Spring.

1. Bike Ride

One of my favorite forms of exercise is bike riding because not only are you working out, but you’re enjoying the gorgeous world around you. Not only can you bike around your neighborhood, but you can explore your local city. New York City uses a company called Citi Bike to give members access to bicycles all over the city. All you have to do is find an available bike, unlock it using a ride code, ride around for a while and return the bike to the nearest Citi Bike station. Even if your local city doesn’t have a system like this one, it’s pretty simple to bring your own and explore. This brings me to my next date idea.

2. Explore the city

Because I live an hour away from New York City, I’m able to take the train into the city quite often. There are so many things to do in the city between the hundreds of restaurants, shops and tourist attractions. Some of my go to activities for a date are taking a walk along the piers on Hudson River and getting some great food in Greenwich Village. One of my favorite hidden gems is Magnolia Bakery, the perfect destination for great tasting cupcakes.

3. Late night drives (warmer)

One of my all time favorite things to do with my boyfriend is take a late night drive. The beauty of this date is that you can do it on chilly spring days or the days that feel like summer. I’m not going to lie, rolling the windows down and feeling the wind on your face makes the experience a lot better. However, it’s just as fun to bring a fuzzy blanket in the car and listen to chill music on a cooler night. You don’t even have to drive very far from home. It’s a great way to discover and explore new areas of your hometown. Of course you could drive around during the day, but I find that I have the deepest and best conversations late at night.

4. Ice cream/bakery

Springtime is a great season to indulge yourself in sweets. Don’t get me wrong, it’s always a good time for dessert. There’s just something so much sweeter about sharing ice cream with your significant other as the weather gets warmer. If it’s not warm enough to enjoy ice cream, cakes are always a great option. If you happen to live in or around Bethlehem Pennsylvania, you are lucky enough to have access to Vegan Treats. I’ve brought my best friend and boyfriend to this spot, and it did not disappoint. As implied, all of the desserts sold are vegan. Their mini cakes are beautifully decorated for each season and are absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend hitting your local bakery to share some sweets with your honey.

5. Picnic

As the weather starts to get a warmer, a great way to spend some time outdoors is by having a picnic. While they aren’t always as luxurious as they look in the movies, picnics are a great way to soak up Vitamin D and stuff your face with your partner. Not to mention, if you’re able to picnic in the park or on a beach, you can take a long romantic walk afterward. If not, you can easily set up some string lights in your backyard and lay out a blanket. This gives you the opportunity to lay out and talk to your partner all day, and gaze up at the stars at night (if you’re into the whole super cheesy date thing).
