Sorry Not Sorry: Do Not Support Donald Trump

Barack Obama’s presidency is nearing its end, and come this November (only two months away!), we will have to decide who is best to be the 45th president of the United States. In case you didn’t know who that person is, it’s Hillary Clinton. Her main contender is Donald Trump, and although he is openly sexist, and in some cases, racist, he still has a pretty good chance of winning the election. That says something about a large percentage of American citizens that are continuing to support him.

Donald Trump has made his views on controversial topics like abortion and gun control very clear. He is anti-abortion, and pro-gun. Supporting the second amendment isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but he doesn’t seem to address gun violence at all, or the fact that it is way too easy for anyone to obtain a gun in America. Being anti-abortion, however, it is a violation of women’s rights plain and simple, and those who claim to be pro-life, are really just too involved in what women do with their bodies.

Trump has also made his views on immigration very clear. Donald Trump wants to make it more difficult for people of different religious backgrounds to come here, and make living more difficult for them, as well. He claims that he’d rather be safe than sorry. The United States of America was built on immigrants, so to have a viable contender for presidency who’s negative views on immigration, specifically on people from Mexico and the Middle East, is astounding. He once made this very general statement on behalf of Mexican immigrants, “They’re bringing drugs, they’re bringing crime, they’re rapists.” Many people support Donald Trump because he is open, and he says what he means, which generally is a good attribute. However, when what he’s saying is so derogatory towards a decent percentage of people who live here, it’s not so good.

Hillary Clinton has also had her scandals to be fair. During her husband’s time in office, he lied under oath. Hillary was also just recently exposed for using a private email server during her time as secretary of state. However the FBI stated, “that there was no evidence that those emails were ‘intentionally deleted.’” Hillary Clinton wants to make sure that minorities and victims of hate are represented, and she has a plan to make sure that that happens. Sorry not sorry, but if you’re a decent human being, vote Hillary Clinton. #Imwithher
