Sarah’s Short List: Midterm Madness

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at TCNJ chapter.

The semester is almost halfway finished and you know that means two things. Spring break is almost here! But first… Midterms. Here are a few tips to help you get through your school work in one piece, so you can slip on your two-piece and enjoy yourself.

1. Start studying now. I know it’s cliché, but it’s true! Get started on your work, even just by doing a little studying each day, and you’ll be on your way to an A!
2. We all know spring break is coming and it’s tempting to look at cute, new spring clothes online. Resist temptation and stay focused.
3. Can’t study in your room? Hate the crowds in the lib? There are tons of other quiet places on campus to get your studying done in peace. Try your floor’s lounge, the Business Building basement and the Bliss computer lab!
4. Even with all the stress, remember to eat right and exercise. When you’re busy, it can be easy to grab junk food at TDubs instead of eating healthy. Your brain needs food, so feed it right! And when you need a quick study break, take a short walk outside.
5. Focus on one subject at a time. It’s difficult to do when you have a paper, two tests and a dreaded group project looming. But focus on each individually — it’s a whole lot stressful than the big picture, right?

Jessica is one half of the fantastic duo founding Her Campus on the leafy suburban campus that is The College of New Jersey. A Journalism major and Communications minor in the Class of 2012, she is a native of Pennsylvania and an adoptive resident of New Jersey. That's why she can't fist pump, but can pump gas. Before Her Campus, Jessica was a newspaper reporter, communications assistant and world traveler, having studied and interned abroad in London. When she's not writing or talking up a storm, Jessica can be found bargain shopping, catching up on a good book, fiddling with her camera or attempting to stay in shape. Other passions include hummus, tickling those ivories on the piano, meeting new people and all things Her Campus.
