National Cat Day is happening meow! Cats are one of the most popular pets around the nation, and for a good reason. Studies have actually shown that if you consider yourself to be a “cat person” you’re more likely to be considered an intelligent person. (No offense to dog people though!) Cats, like dogs, are very protective of their owners. Although National Cat Day has only been a holiday since 2005, people have owned cats as pets since ancient times. Cats are very independent, loving, and sweet animals, so it’s no wonder why we have an entire day dedicated to them!
