Sarah Murphy is a junior at TCNJ and over the past three years, she has taken advantage of everything TCNJ has to offer! Although her major is a mouth full, (Early Childhood, Special Education, and English) she has made many friends, connections, and experiences within the Education School. Sarah has always known that she wanted to be a teacher and gained experience through working at various summer camps throughout high school. This past summer, Sarah has worked at Middletown Recreation Camp in her hometown of Middletown, Nj.
Sarah is also a sister of Theta Phi Alpha and she is extremely involved within her sisterhood. Last semester, she was the intramural and greek week chair, and she currently holds the position of philanthropy chair! Sarah is very passionate about her sorority’s philanthropy of Hunger and Homelessness. She and her sorority work locally with TASK (Trenton Area Soup Kitchen) and Homefront! Sarah has helped plan multiple philanthropy events including utensil wrapping, food drives, and TASK trips, where they help package meals for children in need.
Not only is Sarah a great student, sister, and future teacher, she is also an amazing friend! Sarah is constantly putting other people’s needs in front of her own, she is always willing to listen, give great advice, and is kind to everyone she meets! I was so fortunate to have such an amazing freshman year roommate and I don’t know where I’d be without her! She was my very first friend at TCNJ and I’m so honored to know her!
