MEET THE HC TCNJ TEAM!
There is so much HC love amongst the skilled and dedicated writers, editors, photographers and marketing consultants that make up the team. Learn more about the girls who fuel the engine behind Her Campus TCNJ:
Editors-in-Chief:
Jess Corry is one half of the fantastic duo founding
Her Campus on the leafy suburban campus that is
The College of New Jersey. A Journalism major and
Communications minor in the Class of 2012, she is
a native of Pennsylvania and an adoptive resident of
New Jersey. That’s why she can’t fist pump, but
excels at pumping gas. Before Her Campus, Jess
was a newspaper reporter, communications assistant and world traveler, having studied and interned abroad in London. When she’s not writing, Jess can be found bargain shopping, catching up on a good book, fiddling with her camera or attempting to stay in shape. Other passions include arts and crafts, Bo Burnham, hummus, meeting new people and all things Her Campus.
Alexa Rozzi is the other half of the dynamic duo
co-founding Her Campus TCNJ. The sophomore
Journalism major and Italian minor can be spotted
on campus playing soccer, working out at the gym,
or buried on the third floor of the campus library,
also known as her second home. With her roots
planted in Freehold, the young writer loves
spending countless hours of summer soaking up the sun at the beach, with the the rest of the year spent counting down the days until summer begins again. The young journalist loves to put pen to paper and hopes to make a successful career out of writing some day (sooner rather than later!). Alexa is thrilled to help bring a branch of Her Campus to the young women of TCNJ, and hopes to provide its collegiettes a place for their voices to be heard.
News Editor:
Allison Shadel is currently studying journalism and women and
gender studies at The College of New Jersey. She is a member of the
Domestic Violence Awareness Planning Committee, and is interning
with the marketing and public relations department at Womanspace,
Inc. Before attending TCNJ, she graduated with high honors from
County College of Morris in May 2010 with her Associate’s in Arts in
Journalism. She will graduate from TCNJ in May 2012 and plans to
attend graduate school.
News Editor:
Cammie Dering is a sophomore Journalism and Professional Writing major at The College of New Jersey with double-minors in Law, Politics, Philosophy and Communication Studies. She serves as staff
writer for The Signal, secretary and formal chair of her sorority, Theta
Phi Alpha, and is the events liaison for the TCNJ debate team. She is
also a member of Ed@TCNJ, the pre-law society, and the Italian club.
She lives in Lavallette, NJ–the REAL Jersey Shore–and loves summer for the warm weather, the beach, and flip flops. Other favorite past-times include stalking Facebook, reading Cosmo, and obsessing over True Blood. She hopes you enjoy learning about the latest on-campus events, current style and beauty trends, advice on all things boys, and what’s hot right now by reading our weekly articles in the News section. Peace, Love, and Her Campus!
Campus Celebrity Editor:
Jamie Primeau is a sophomore at the College of New
Jersey. Double-majoring in English and journalism, with a
minor in women and gender’s studies, it would be Jamie’s
dream job to one day work in the magazine industry. She
believes that Her Campus will provide a means to delve into
the genre of writing that she finds most interesting. She is
currently the Features Editor for TCNJ’s student newspaper
‘The Signal’ and a member of Women in Learning & Leadership. Writing is one of her favorite things – as are banana ice cream and spending time with her friends and family (which includes a twin sister, older sister and lovable
yellow lab).
Blog Editor:
Sarah Scholz is a junior double majoring in Journalism &
Professional Writing and Women’s & Gender Studies. In
addition to writing for Her Campus, she is involved in the
Women in Learning & Leadership program and the Residence
Hall Association. She loves vegan pizza, riding bikes, going to
shows, cats, zines, yoga, Gossip Girl and soy vanilla lattes.
Campus Cutie Editor:
Tiffany Teng is a sophomore English and International
Studies double major with a double minor in Marketing
and French, originally from Parsippany. She loves to
paint, draw and basically do anything creative, in
addition to traveling to faraway lands and reading for
pleasure. This past summer she traveled to Tanzania and
volunteered at an orphanage for six weeks, an exhilarating adventure-filled life-changing experience. She likes to attend concerts, try new food and anything new, really. Future plans possibly include law school, pursuing an MBA, or the Peace Corps!
Photo Editor:
Kate Stronczer is a sophomore at The College of New
Jersey studying Graphic Design with a minor in
Marketing and Photography. She was born and raised
near the Jersey Shore (not to be confused with those
guys on MTV) and is an advocate that Central Jersey
does, in fact, exist. She enjoys listening to as much
music as she can find, rocking out at as many concerts as possible, shopping…a lot, thunderstorm watching, exploring New York City, and hanging out with her crazy but awesome (basically, crazy awesome!) friends. Some of her favorite things include: plaid shirts, iced tea, exclamation points, posters, and the color purple.
Events Editor:
Eman Hassan is a junior English major at the College of
New Jersey. She enjoys reading and writing everything
and anything. Her three passions involve literature,
journalism, and the theater. Eman hopes to incorporate her
three loves in the future.
Marketing Consultant:
Stefanie Vitale is a junior studying Journalism and
Marketing and is thrilled to be involved in a position that
combines both! Born and raised at the Jersey Shore, she
loves the beach and everything about the summertime. She
has a passion for food, cooking, and finding new
restaurants, and dreams of becoming a food critic. Her
favorite food in the world is sushi, and she’ll gladly spend
way too much money on this obsession. She is actively
involved in the Alpha Zeta Gamma chapter of Alpha Phi
Omega, and spends much of her time doing community
service. She especially enjoys working with the elderly at a
nursing home, which she has been doing now for six years.
She is super excited for the launch of Her Campus and
can’t wait to get started!
Marketing Consultant:
Julia Corbett is a freshman Journalism/Professional Writing
major from northern New Jersey. She enjoys writing and is
very excited to be a part of the HC team at TCNJ. In addition
to becoming campus marketing consultant and freshman
blogger for HC, Julia writes for the school newspaper, the
Signal, and has recently become a member of CUB, French
Club, and Ed@TCNJ. In her spare time, you can find Julia on
her freshman floor with her friends goofing off or in T-Dubbs
getting some unnecessary (but delicious and well-deserved)
Ben and Jerry’s.
