This cultured Campus Cutie spent his spring semester studying abroad in Costa Rica! Now he’s back in America and beginning his senior year. Kyle Ciavaglia hopes to be a Spanish teacher in the future, but for now, he’s just livin’ the life at TCNJ.
Name: Kyle Ciavaglia
Age: 21
Year: Senior
Major: Spanish and Secondary Education
Hometown: Tabernacle, NJ
Hobbies/activities: Rapping to Nicki Minaj, GTL, watching Bravo, raging, spending time with my family.
Favorite place on campus: Lot 6, Second Floor
Favorite thing about TCNJ: TCNJ’s big balls and Hassan.
Quirky habits: Cracking my knuckles, touching my face in awkward situations, and laughing way too much.
Pet peeves: When people tell long and pointless stories, when something makes an obnoxiously loud noise, when people pretend to know what they’re talking about.
Favorite movie: Mean Girls
Favorite band/musician: Nicki Minaj
Best advice you’ve received: Don’t take the Travers elevator to any floor below 5.
Describe yourself in three words: Bringin’ Sexy Back
Fun fact about yourself: I live in a house with seven girls … Hugh Hefner’s got nothin’ on me.
Your dream date: I’m a cheap date … a couple hot dogs, a few beers, and a hot Latino whispering sweet-Spanish-nothings in my ear at the Jersey shore.
Future plans: I hope to be such an awesome teacher that all my students love Spanish just as much as I do and look forward to coming to my class every single day. In the long run, I’d LOVE to become a principal of a high school or middle school.
Something you want to do before you graduate: I would love, for once, to walk to class without being bombarded by paparazzi.
What were the highlights of your summer? Most of my time this summer was spent working in the oh-so-thrilling payroll office at TCNJ. Other than that I’ve taken trips down the shore, to Long Island, and to Boston to visit with my family and friends.
Tell us about your time abroad: Studying abroad in Costa Rica was definitely an eye-opening experience. I’m glad to have had the opportunity to learn about a different culture, and to practice my Spanish, but after a while I was anxious to return to the U.S.
What was your favorite part of studying abroad in Costa Rica? My favorite part about my trip was an excursion where I got to go canyoning down a couple different waterfalls in the middle of the jungle.
Anything else you’d like to say? I’ve had a great past three years at TCNJ and I’m sad to have to graduate in May. I’ll be teaching Spanish to 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students in the spring semester for my student teaching and I am extremely excited. I acted in a lot of plays throughout high school – I LOVE to be the center of attention whenever possible.
