Now that I have watched Gossip Girl for the 5th time, I have realized that Blair Waldorf basically raised all of us and I truly mean that. If you have never watched Gossip Girl–– and I am not talking about the new Gossip Girl that has come out recently (because that one is fake and does not count–– then I promise you you are truly missing out.
Blair Waldorf is an icon. Period. Queen B is the symbol of a girl growing up and finding herself in the world. Throughout the show her character evolves into the image of what it means to be a confident and empowered female. Here are my top 6 favorite lines of Blair Waldorf:
“I’m not a stop along the way, I’m a destination” (season 1, episode 5)
Spoken like a true queen, B! Never settle for anything less then you deserve. Every girl deserves to be treated like a princess. Let him hold the door for you, buy you flowers occasionally, and hold your hand everywhere the two of you go. Listen to Queen Blair Waldorf when she says that you are the destination when it comes to having a man’s heart.
“You deserve someone who would move mountains for you if he had to”
If moving mountains is too much to ask for than that man is not worth your time. Moving mountains should be the least of their worries because if the whole entire world is what you desire than the world is what you shall get. Be with someone who would go to the ends of the earth for you with no hesitation. Do not settle.
“Things are never as bad as they think” (season 2, episode 8)
If the world seems as though it is fallen apart into a million pieces you must remind yourself to take a step back and breathe. If your world is falling apart because of a relationship, I promise you that person did not stay in your life for a reason. If your world is falling apart because of a bad test at school, I promise you it will not matter 10 years from now. Find your happy place, cherish and protect it.

Your fate, your life, the way you chose to live is your decision and no one else’s. You should never sit back and expect for things to just magically land into your hands. Go out into the world and grab the things you want. Never give up on the dreams you desire.

Your ex-boyfriends are your ex-befriends for a reason. The tears are now to be wiped away and never to be brought back from the exes of our pasts. They have caused way too much damage already; now it is time to repair all of it and move on. Be happy and find love in yourself because after that love is going to catch you at the most unexpected time.

I am not telling you to be mean and cold through life. What I am telling you though is to not forget what your mind is telling you along with what your heart is telling you. Follow your heart but allow your mind to have some say with where your heart desires to go. Learn to follow the dreams of your heart BUT learn to trust in the thoughts that are in your head.
