There’s a lot to be excited for with new movies coming out this summer. Although there are a ton of them, here’s five that are a must see:

1. Avenger’s Endgame, which premiered April 26th, 2019

First off this is my #1 most anticipated movies of kicking off the summer movie season and it didn’t disappoint.  I won’t spoil the Endgame for you, but I highly recommend watching this one since it was arguably the best Marvel movie I’ve ever seen.

2. Detective Pikachu premiering May 10th, 2019

Ryan Reynolds who is known for his charismatic performance as Deadpool is pikachu in this live action pokemon movie! Justice Smith plays the kid, Tim Goodman, who’s searching for his father. From all the trailers and fan videos, it’s highly anticipated and looks like it’s going to be a good one.

3. The Sun is Also a Star premiering May 17th, 2019

This movie is based on a novel written by Nicola Yoon. It’s about this girl named Natasha Kingsley (Yara Shahidi) who has less than 24 hours before her and her family are deported from New York to Jamaica. Things quickly get complicated when she meets Daniel, (Charles Melton). Fans will know that this is a tribute to her life story as the author herself is from Jamaica and she married a Korean-American. Since the movie comes out soon, now is the perfect time to grab a copy from your local library and read it before watching!

4. Aladdin premiering May 24th, 2019

This energetic cast includes Will Smith, Naomi Scott from Disney Channel’s Lemonade Mouth, Mena Massuod, and many others! It’s good to see Naomi singing in another movie. The new rendition of “A Whole New World” is highly anticipated. If you’re looking for a feel good kind of movie that’s slightly different than the original, then this is for you!

5. Spider-Man: Far From Home premiering July 15th, 2019

Tom Holland, Zendaya, and the rest of the cast are back for Spider-Man: Far From Home. When Peter Parker’s (Holland’s) character goes on a class trip to Europe on what he assumed would be a way for him to spend more time with friend Ned (Jacob Batalon) and an opportunity to get to know MJ (Zendaya) better, his plans come to a halt when Nick Fury pays him a visit.

I hope you get a chance to use this summer to take a break from classes and watch some of these never before seen movies!
