Megan Thee Stallion brings the heat to TCNJ and she isn’t talking about degrees. If you haven’t heard of her then you haven’t been paying attention to a woman’s music that has been topping the charts for almost half of 2019. Her music is all independent grown women music about getting your money, your degree, not letting men talk to you in any type of way. Those are all things that I support, so of course when it was announced that she was the Fall Concert, I was more than happy to buy a ticket. Despite my personal delight, this announcement came with other mixed emotions.

Students were disappointed and insulted by this choice of performer. What stood out to me was the number of hate comments on C. U. B’s Instagram post. Haters claimed they would only gain from not attending. In reality, everyone was gaining by not having these people at the concert taking up space. So don’t worry, I got to meet fans from the surrounding schools like Rider, Rowan, and Rutgers.

Moving on, the Fall Concert was everything that I expected it to be. I left with my ears ringing, voice missing, and feet hurting. After Joey Badass came on for most of the concert (and said his name a handful of times so we wouldn’t forget) it was finally time. The time came for the queen herself to hit the stage. Megan performed her hit songs such as Simon Says, Big Ole Freak, and of course the infamous Hot Girl Summer. She even brought students onto the stage with her and had one request- that they could not be shy when performing with her. She brought the house down and gave the students an unforgettable performance, even if it was only for the last hour of the concert.
