Bullet journals and the art of calligraphy are slowly taking over. Fancy writing and a dotted journal may seem a little too complicated, but a simple ruler and a couple Pinterest screenshots will help along the way.

Bullet journaling is creating your own planner with different, and customizable spreads to fit your needs. Not everyone has to have an eye for art or a great imagination.

There are hundreds of YouTube videos, Pinterest Boards and Instagram pages to help the beginners with different ideas for your spreads and how to master the fancy hand lettering.

Here is a list of cheap, yet perfectly good tools for your perfect bullet journal:

  • Crayola Supertip Markers- 50 pack- $20- Target, Michael’s, AC Moore

  • Artist’s Loft Black Dot Journal- $5- Michael’s

  • Ruler- $2- Target, Michael’s, Staples, AC Moore

  • Pencils- prices vary on packs

  • Washi Tape- Michael’s has 3 for $1 deals

Sophomore Miranda Inglese “started bullet journaling because [she] likes being organized, but wanted to step it up and make [her] thought process look more beautiful. It takes away the stress of planning and makes it more fun. [Her] favorite part about bullet journaling is that there are unlimited possibilities of what you can do- there is a list and layout for everything you need and it’s all up to you. Creativity is key.”

And here is a list of some spreads to do:

  • Birthdays

  • Year in Pixels

  • Places traveled to

  • Tv Shows/ Movies watched

  • Concerts been to

  • Social Media Passwords

  • Class Schedule

  • To Do List

  • Favorite makeup products

Bullet journals give you the freedom to plan what you want, however you want. Feel free and creative!
