Ah, the Oscars, a night filled with glamour, celebrities, and the best movies of the year. People can’t wait to see if their predictions of the winners come true and they love to see the fashion on the red carpet.

Here are some major moments from this year’s Oscars:

Chris Rock, our amazing host for the night, opened with a line up of jokes that mainly had to do with the #OscarsSoWhite scandal.

He also let his daughter sell Girl Scout cookies to the entire audience and raised over $65,000- Dad of the Year or what?!

There were also several performances by those who were up for the Best Original Song Category, including Sam Smith, The Weeknd, and Lady Gaga.

Lady Gaga delivered one of the powerful performances of the night with her song, “Til it Happens to You,” which is about sexual assault. It was impossible not to get the chills when the curtain opened to about a hundred sexual assault victims who joined Gaga in singing the rest of the song.

And of course, the highlight of the evening was that Leonardo DiCaprio FINALLY won an Oscar! He won for best lead actor in his role for in “The Revenant.” Congrats Leo!

Best Animated Featured Film: “Inside Out”

Best Original Song: “Writings on the Wall,” Music and Lyrics by Jimmy Napes and Sam Smith

Best Picture- “Spotlight”

Fashion:

When it comes to the fashion for the evening, Kerry Washington wore an edgy dress that included a leather aspect and a high slit.

Charlize Theron donned a gorgeous crimson gown with a plunging neckline that was accented by a sparkly diamond necklace.

Keeping it as cool as ever, Jennifer Lawrence rocked a cascading lace dress.

First time Oscar winner, Alicia Kikander wore a light yellow dress that had hints of sequins throughout.
