We’ve all been there. The free time you scheduled for after studying is slowly ticking away as you scroll through countless Netflix shows. Nothing looks good to you, probably because your brain is  fried from hours of studying and homework. This list includes what some might call “mindless” TV shows. They won’t stress you out or make your brain hurt even more after finishing your work! They have simple, but still intriguing plots and easy to understand characters and relationships.

1. Friends

I know, this is the most basic answer. But I recommend watching (or rewatching) this show. Try watching a season you don’t know as well, or always say is your least favorite.  If you’re a first timer, this show is a must-see. It’s mindlessly funny and heartwarming! And you’ll finally understand all the references!

2. Gilmore Girls

My favorite “feel good” show! It has a super cute mother-daughter relationship and very fun cast to follow.

3. Awkward

A bit of a throwback, but it’s a very underrated show! It’s funny, and a throwback to the good ol’ 2000s.

4. That 70’s Show

A classic like Friends! And the short episodes make it a great mindless watch.

5. The Office

The most basic of basics, but it’s genuinely one of the best mindless shows out there. And it definitely relieves stress from studying with it’s funny plot!

6. New Girl

My new favorite “mindless” show! It has a funny cast and very relatable plot.

7. Modern Family

Not the most common mindless watch, but it’s a really funny and heartwarming show with an unlikely cast that you’ll fall in love with!
