If you’re like me, you probably fell in love with Taylor Swift and her music straight out of the gate and from her debut album, Taylor Swift. For those of you who don’t know, it was originally released back in October 24th, 2006. Diehard fans understand the level of importance that the number 13 has for Swift. Therefore, as one of those diehard fans, I thought I’d take a look back on 13 of my favorite songs of hers.

I’m Only Me When I’m With You
Perhaps you’ve listened to “Mary’s Song (Oh My My My)” back when Swift wrote country songs. In an article with IHeartRadio, the 10 time Grammy Award winning singer-songwriter wrote, “I said in an interview 13 years ago ‘I’m just hoping that I have a second album that does as well as the first & someday get to be a headliner, & always be the same person that I started out as.’” Each of these songs are really good in their own way. What I love about Taylor Swift’s songs is that she writes all of them and each song tells a story.
She continued by saying, “Scrolling through your posts has me feeling all the feelings & I want to thank you. Because of you, there was a second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, and seventh album. You guys made me into a headliner because you wanted to see me play. And your support all these years is what has helped me stay true to that kid I was when I started out. #13YearsOfTaylor.”
As a die-hard swiftie, I love every album overall and have listened to her songs multiple times. I would say that she’s come a long way since Taylor Swift was first released and as a fan, I couldn’t be more proud of her. Lover is one of my favorite albums of hers and I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for her.
