Your Guide to a Perfect Saturday Morning in College Station:

Whenever the weekend rolls around, the last thing you’d wanna do is get up early again. After a week of 8AMs and late nights, a morning to sleep in and laze around sounds perfect.

BUT, let me take this opportunity to convince you why you should sacrifice a couple of hours of sleep for all the cozy, quaint, Stars Hollow (iykyk) vibes! I have the perfect Saturday morning itinerary to switch up and romanticize your normal weekend routine of sleeping in. So let’s get into it:

(Also I cheated a little bit, and these spots are in Bryan, but it’s a quick 12-minute drive from campus!)

Stop 1: Coffee

First things first, we have to fuel up for the morning, so coffee is obviously first on the docket – and it didn’t hurt that this was where the clothing popup was being held. The name of this coffee shop was Tavo Coffee, on Main Street in Bryan, and oh my god this place was BEAUTIFUL. The modern pops of brown, orange-y, burnt sienna tones were amazing, coupled with the amazing amount of greenery they have. It has a very chic, but still cozy, warm vibe. It actually used to be a hundred-year-old bank, so it’s divided up into little rooms with seating and is such a cool set-up. I particularly loved looking at the mug collection they have displayed on the top of a dividing wall. I opted for an iced latte and can say their coffee is strong, flavorful, and the perfect thing to getcha you going. It was connected to a bakery which leads us to our next stop!

Stop 2: Secondhand Clothing Pop-up

Very conveniently, the clothing pop-up was being held in a connected cafe, The Wild Grain Bakery and Cafe. Just the concept of having my lil’ drink in one hand and looking through racks upon racks of clothes with the other, is so appealing. This one was put on by BYGONE VINTAGE, beginning at 9 AM, and they had so much stuff! They had sweatshirts for days, Oversized Tees, Flannels, Jackets, and so much more. I ended up with the cutest, dark teal-ish “shacket”, that’s the perfect amount of worn in, and new tote bag (you can never have too many). The location for this pop-up does change, so make sure to check!

Stop 3: Farmers Market

Time to take the cute new tote right across the street for the Brazos Valley Farmers’ Market, located right on Main Street in Downtown Bryan. They have so many vendors, selling everything from jams, olive oils, pastries, Indian food, fresh bread, and salsas, to artisan jewelry, candles, and soaps. They, of course, make it easy to get your grocery fix with fresh vegetables, eggs, meat, and lots of fruit. And bonus(!) they’re dog-friendly, so expect to see so many four-legged cuties, and you can even purchase dog treats for them from some of the vendors. They are set up from 8 AM to 12 PM, and everyone is so welcoming and sweet and always up for a conversation. I walked away with some jams and almost bought this delicious olive oil and warm bread that I’ll definitely be getting next time.

Hopefully, I convinced you to set that alarm for Saturday morning and check out these activities! You can always sleep in on Sunday :)
