A Tribute to Women, by Women hosted by Aggies United

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at TAMU chapter.

On February 13th, there was a phenomenal event hosted by the A&M organization, Aggies United titled “Galentine’s Day: Celebrating Women.”

The mission of Aggies United is to build a strong empowering network of Aggies that is a representation of true diversity, dedicated to molding well rounded individuals who are ready for life beyond college, as said on their Facebook page. The event’s purpose was to celebrate diverse women from varying communities and their many successes.

Some of the most powerful, impactful, and admirable female professionals from College Station and Bryan gathered and shared some of their experiences and knowledge at a personal level by engaging in a Q&A with the attendees, one table at a time.

Although the event was catered to women there were also males present, as the event was open to all.

The speakers of the event include Ekua Assabill, Dr. Yennello, Kim Fazinno, Dr. Marcantonio, Dr. McGowan, Dr. Suhm, and Gabrielle Massey.

These inspiring women spoke of their successes as well as disappointments encountered, personally and professionally, that have landed them where they are now. Their areas of expertise range from education to law and finance. With their diverse talents and excellent leadership skills, these women undoubtedly created an inspiring atmosphere the night of the now popular, Galentine’s Day.
