The Horror that is The Grimace Shake

The opinions expressed in this article are the writer’s own and do not reflect the views of Her Campus.
This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at TAMU chapter.

This article is written in response to the #GrimaceShake that is trending on Tik-Tok. Note, this article seeks to highlight the trend and is only joking commentary. The following is to be read with humorous intent.

Thousands of people have tried the grimace shake, and thousands have died.  Lives lost, and for what?

Each individual meets their own horrific end.  And the survivors, they will never be the same…

“I lost my brother to Grimace.  I begged him not to.  I begged him.  But the shake was just too tempting.”

–Citizen 59

How It Started

The Grimace shake was launched on June 12 to commemorate Grimace’s birthday.  At first, everything was going well.  But then… the unthinkable happened.  As documented in various Tik-Toks and Instagram reels.

These are just a few stories of the many.  To find more videos, search #grimace.  But I must warn you, the results… View discretion is advised.

“My friends thought it was a joke.  Heck, I thought it was a joke!  But it wasn’t a joke.  Grimace, h-he, he kidnapped them.  I know it.”

–Theo III of Isladanle

How It’s Going

McDonald’s may have been celebrating Grimace by creating a shake just for him.  And what a lovely birthday idea it would have been, if not for the tragedy that has followed.  If not for the disappearances and deaths.  But it’s gone too far!  Grimace needs to be stopped.  But how?

McDonald’s Denial

McDonald’s refuses to stop Grimace.  And it begs the question: can McDonalds stop him?

Grimace seems to have taken over McDonalds.  I mean, my goodness, just take a look at their latest instagram post.

And have you seen the McDonald’s profile pic as well as bio?  “grimace here lol”

I think it’s safe to say that McDonald’s has lost control of their monster.

Our Next Steps

The shake is a portal for Grimace.  Or a beacon.  Or something.  The CDC has yet to come out with a statement.  Even their scientists are perplexed. The only solution is to not drink the shake.  I repeat, do not drink the shake.

“Just once sip of the drink.  That’s all it takes.”

Howdy! I’m Gabriela Gomez, an avid reader who is interested in all areas of publishing and writing. And reading of course! I’m the Editor-in-Chief; I currently oversee all the publishing of articles for the Her Campus at TAMU chapter. I am overjoyed to read all the members’ articles and make any corrections that will help to elevate the article. I have been with Her Campus at TAMU since my freshman year. The first year I was a general member on the Writing and Editing committee. During that first year, I wrote a total of 23 articles and was always finding new ways to help. For my second year, I worked as the Senior Editor, publishing more than 80 articles and writing 38 articles. Now in my second semester of junior year, I have implemented a new pitch process for better organization and cleanest, I have already published more than 170 articles, and I have written 16 articles and will continue writing more! Besides working as the Editor-in-Chief, I am a dedicated student at Texas A&M studying Biomedical Sciences. I am also obtaining a minor in both English and Spanish. While not studying diligently, I work in a research lab grinding away, trying to get my name on some research papers (fingers crossed). In my free time, I read, obviously. I am also on the hunt for the best latte to ever bless this earth and love a good game of chess!
