Texas A&M Resources to Help You Ace Your Tests and Essays

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at TAMU chapter.

It’s around that time again – the first round of exams. This is the glorious time where you have 4 tests, 2 projects, a research essay, and a presentation… all on the same day!

Here at Her Campus at Texas A&M University, we know just how rough this time can be. Thankfully, A&M has some resources to help you survive the first round of tests.

Academic Success Center

Studying is the most important thing you can do to prepare for exams, but we were never really taught how to study. The Academic Success Center can help with that. You can make an appointment to talk with an advisor or, if you’re short on time, you can check out their handouts

Free Tutoring

The academic success center also coordinates free tutoring. They offer many subjects including math, psychology, sociology, and lots of sciences. You can find the tutoring both on and off campus. Check out their website for more information!

Writing Center

If your professor requires an essay or presentation, be sure to stop by the Writing Center. They can help you at any point during your writing process. Whether you have no idea where to start, your grammar needs some work, or you need help with citations, they are there for you. Even though they are called the Writing Center, they can help you with any presentation you have. If you don’t have time for an appointment, check out their online guides.

Help with Research Papers

Finding the articles you need for your research papers can be hard. Thankfully, you can find help with the research aspect of your research papers. In Evans Library, right across from the Starbucks, is a librarian that can help you out. Don’t be afraid to ask for help!

Office Hours

When all else fails, head into your professor’s office hours. They have them for a reason. Be sure to come prepared with questions and concerns to make the most of your time there!
