You are strong, loved, and can get through this. No matter what happened or how long the relationship was though, we all need a cry sesh. Sometimes you don’t want to talk to anyone. You just want to be alone and let all the emotions flow through you. Music acts like medicine.

A breakup is a lot like mourning someone because you have lost someone close to you. Take however much time you need and hopefully get your last cry in with these song suggestions. You got this bestie!

1. I almost do -Taylor Swift

Our favorite breakup queen. If you’re still having a hard time processing this whole thing it’s ok! Taylor Swift is right there with you! This song is all about moving forward even when it’s one of the hardest things at the moment. If you need more than this one song, most of her RED album does the job.

2. 1 Step forward, 3 steps back – olivia rodrigo

I feel like a lot of us can relate to this one. If you were ever feeling like the other person wasn’t giving as much as they could or made you feel like not enough, Olivia Rodrigo is here to share that with you. In my opinion, this whole album is one of the most perfect things to listen while you’re going through a breakup. It goes through all the feels of a breakup. Share your feelings with this track!

3.All i ask – Adele

I once had an ex tell me that his ex-wife sent him one of Adele’s songs years later after the breakup. That should tell you everything about Adele’s albums and her power. (Also tells you a lot about my funny dating life). Seriously though, she has so many songs that empower, make you cry, and just give you the perfect amount of sadness but also remind you that you’re a bad bish. Other songs by her I recommend are: Don’t You Remember, Turning Tables, Love In The Dark & River Lea.

4. Happier than ever – kelly clarkson

This one’s for the ones ready to move on. You should never feel bad to wanting to heal and getting on with your life without them if it wasn’t in the books. If you want to relate to something after that special someone hurt you, this is it! It’s like your goodbye letter filled with so much passion. And yes, there is a Billie Eilish version if you like that one better.

5. Slide away – miley cyrus

We all know the queen has been on her post breakup game, as she deserves. This one’s actually for when you’re done crying and you just needed to be reminded of the powerful force you are. This is to remind that the relationship was what it was “but it’s time to let it go,” as Miley says

First breakup, 30th breakup, or just feeling like you need to cry it out because you haven’t in a while. Here’s some songs because sometimes you just need that release. There’s so many Spotify/Apple playlists at this point; there is probably a playlist for every type of heartbreak. Just remember that you will make it out on the other side, and till then here’s some songs that will help you feel heard.
