My Favorite Orders from On Campus Dining Locations

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at TAMU chapter.

Texas A&M University has so many dining locations on campus which makes it super convenient to grab a bite on the way to class or in between classes. Here are some of my go-to orders at my favorite dining locations!

Shake Smart

Shake Smart is great for two main reasons: their shakes are high in protein which keeps me full and energized throughout the day, and they’re super easy to drink on the go. Last semester, I would always stop by Shake Smart to get a shake before my first class of the day. Their menu is super extensive, so there is at least one shake that is guaranteed to satisfy. Their exotic shakes section is filled with delicious tropical flavors. The Pink Cadillac and Breakfast To Go are definitely two of my favorites. They’re pretty similar in ingredients, except the Pink Cadillac has pitaya where the Breakfast To Go has strawberry and acai. Both are super delicious and extremely convenient when I’m running late to class. The Greens To Go and Shake Your Coffee also definitely hit the spot for me.

Salata

I love that there are so many salad combinations you can customize at Salata, but their best dressing is hands down the Jalapeño Avocado. I can almost guarantee that you could put this on any salad, and it would taste amazing. I thought it would have some kick to it, but it’s really not that spicy. If you are looking for something to make your taste buds tingle, I would recommend the Chipotle Ranch. I also love that you can turn any salad into a wrap if you want something a little bit more filling. The only thing about Salata I don’t love is that it’s on the pricey side. Adding a protein to the salad is almost a $3 additional charge, so I usually just get a veggie salad.

Starbucks

With there being so many Starbucks locations on campus, sometimes it’s just really convenient to order food from here. The Starbucks breakfast sandwiches have a special place in my heart. The Impossible Breakfast Sandwich is perfect for when I need a quick meal before class. That sandwich paired with a Vanilla Sweet Cream Cold Brew is the perfect quick meal. I haven’t tried their lunch options, but I’ve heard great things about the Tomato & Mozzarella on Focaccia. As the semester comes to an end, I need to find ways to spend all the dining dollars I have left, so I will be frequenting Starbucks.

Panda Express

Panda Express and Chick-Fil-A have some of the longest hours out of all dining locations on Campus, so if it’s 9:30 and I still need to eat dinner, I’m headed to Panda Express. The bowl is exactly one retail swipe, so I go ahead and get a bowl with Chow Mein and SweetFire Chicken. The SweetFire Chicken is my favorite by far. It has a little bit of spice, but it’s also sweet and the pineapple and peppers in the entree are so delicious. As someone who loves pineapple on pizza, I appreciate when pineapple is added to a savory dish.
