My Current ✨Obsession✨

I’m not sure why, but lately there has been nothing more relaxing than cranking out those long study sessions at Starbucks. This does feel a little weird to me in concept because when I think of Starbucks, I’m definitely not getting the same relaxing vibe that I get when I think of other coffee shops. My logic is that by studying in a Starbucks, I will absorb the energy of the busyness and craziness in the air which will translate into me grinding out my work. It’s just a theory, but it seems to be working because I managed to spend 5 hours straight there this morning working on Calculus and Chemistry homework. This being said, a lot of my money has been funneled into Starbucks, so here are my favorite drinks.

I genuinely don’t know what the flavor “Irish Cream” is supposed to taste like, but tell me why it’s so good. An Irish Cream Cold Brew isn’t too sweet, so I don’t find myself getting sick of it, but it definitely has a flavor I can’t quite put my finger on. The caffeine content of this drink is the only thing fueling my current lifestyle, which is also a bonus. I wasn’t always an Irish Cream fan though. I remember trying this drink a little over a year ago and thinking it was gross. You know what is gross? Hazelnut flavored coffees. No shade to hazelnut syrup, but it actually tastes like tree bark. This is probably a pretty biased opinion because I’m not a fan of nuts. All this is to say I love Irish Cream Cold Brews and not hazelnut.

Sidenote: I’m pretty mad about Starbucks changing their Rewards program. 200 stars for a handcrafted drink just totally isn’t worth it anymore compared to the previous 150. The change is so tragic and makes me want to give less of my business to them, but the study areas and coffee keep pulling me back in, especially being a college student and homework being 85% of my life at the moment. I’m also sure their dark green color scheme has something to do with my strange obsession with them since I do appreciate the color.

When it comes to coffee and lattes, I’m not the biggest fan of chocolate in my drink, but I love white mocha. An Iced White Mocha is a classic (maybe even basic) drink I will always enjoy. But I do remember one night I was studying pretty late at Evans, so I decided to grab some coffee right before the Starbucks closed, and I got a White Mocha. I guess my drink was not mixed very well because all the mocha sauce was stuck at the bottom of my cup, and once I reached the end of my drink, I was basically just drinking straight white mocha sauce. Nonetheless, if I’m not really feeling quite adventurous, an Iced White Mocha is always a great choice.

After really giving my Starbucks obsession more thought and consideration through this article, it’s safe to say I have noticed I need to go to Starbucks less.
