Meet Your A&M Cosmopolitan Representative, Heydy Sanches!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at TAMU chapter.

Meet Heydy Sanches! The Aggie who works for one of the most read magazines by women around the world! Read our interview with her to learn about about her job as a Campus Rep, how she got involved, and of course her connection to Aggieland!

HC: What are your class and major?

HS: I’m class of 2015 (but really 16′) and I am a communications major with a business minor!

HC: What are some of your hobbies?

HS: I love doing girl stuff! I’m a DIY freak, makeup hoarder, a shopping addict, and a Netflix kind of girl.

HC: How or why did you choose to attend A&M?

HS: I first visited campus when I was a junior in high school & I automatically fell in love with it. It was beautiful and I felt like A&M was going to be the place to give me a full blown college experience like in the movies! By senior year when I was applying to colleges, I already knew A&M was where I was going to end up.

HC: How did you learn about the position as Campus Rep with Cosmopolitan?

HS: I did a lot of research. I literally spend hours online just searching for internships or future jobs just for fun. Also, my best friend started a campus rep job with Victoria’s Secret PINK, so that kind of inspired me to find a cool internship like that too! I applied with Cosmo and they quickly got in contact with me.

HC: Why did you decide to apply for it?

HS: I related so much to what the Cosmo magazine offers. So I felt like the perfect person to represent the brand on campus! Not to mention, how awesome would it be to have Cosmo on my resume?

HC: What do you do as a Campus Rep?

HS: I act as the exclusive marketing and sales agent at A&M. I generate new business and brand awareness through several marketing channels like social media, peer-to-peer sales and word of mouth. It’s a lot of fun and I also have the opportunity to speak to the big people (AKA the executives) of Cosmo, which is pretty awesome if you ask me!

HC: What is you favorite Aggie tradition and why?

HS: Midnight Yell!!! I mean, it’s a unique, fun, and exciting tradition. No other college does it and the fact that students can fill up the student section all the way to the third deck at midnight is amazing; and as a hopeless romantic myself, I love the whole kissing your date thing haha.
