The Latest in HC News: We Have a YouTube Channel!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at TAMU chapter.

Howdy!

My name is Samantha Nobles and I’m on staff with Her Campus Texas A&M. As a senior Telecommunication Media Studies student aspiring to be a news broadcaster, I desperately wanted an opportunity to get in front of the camera. But that didn’t come too easily…

It seemed that every organization or company at A&M that was broadcasting related entailed reporting about sports. I have been a dancer my whole life and never participated in sports, so reporting on sports is the last thing I wanted to do.

I sought out a platform that I could pour my passions of broadcasting, politics, history, and current events into but never found it. I was recruited to join Her Campus spring semester of 2016, writing articles on various topics and life experiences, but also to start a broadcasting section.

After many trials and errors, the staff members and I are so excited to announce that I, with the help of others, have started the Her Campus YouTube channel. I will report across campus, getting the thoughts and opinions on various topics straight from students.

The first video will be about the recession of the DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) Program. Stay tuned for the release of our first video soon and continue watching for uploads on the Texas A&M Her Campus YouTube Channel!
