How To Celebrate Valentine’s Day While Single

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at TAMU chapter.

Valentine’s Day has the uncanny ability to remind you just how single you are. When it is fast approaching and the odds of you bagging a date and/or boyfriend seem slim to none, you need to establish a game plan because even single ladies deserve to enjoy Valentine’s Day.

1. Have a spa day

Treat yo self! Massages and body wraps and facials, oh my! Indulge in a deluxe spa package that will make you feel so relaxed you forget what day it is.  Bonus points for hiring a hot guy to feed you grapes and fan you with a palm leaf for the day.

2. Bar Hop with a girlfriend

Grab your single girl friend, get dressed up, and hit the town together. However, if on your bar crawling adventure you both happen to find a Valentine, the idiom better late than never could not be more true!

3. Organize a Secret Santa: Valentine’s Day

Round up a group of single ladies and draw names to be each other’s Valentine. Gift your girl friends flowers, chocolate, and teddy bears.

4. Have an Anti- Valentine’s Day party at your house

Embrace your inner Valentine’s Day cynic and throw an entire party in honor, or better yet dishonor, of this holiday. Have fun with it! Require your guests to wear black, tell worst date stories; the possibilities are endless!

5. Watch an entire season of a series on Netflix

Although this is a normal everyday occurrence, watching an entire season of a show on Netflix never fails to take your mind off of things. Spend the whole day in someone else’s world. Make sure to pick something extra juicy, such as Orange is the New Black, which is sure to make you feel slightly better about your life. After all, someone always has it worse!
