We all know attending Texas A&M is not free. You pay a lot of money for tuition every single semester, but are you using everything that you pay for? Probably not. The university offers several amenities that are accounted for in our tuition, and the few amenities that aren’t previously covered, are still much cheaper than they would be in the “real world”. Many students may not even realize what is offered to while studying here. This is why I’ve come up with a list of my favorite amenities that are offered on campus that you should take advantage of!

Technology Checkouts

Technology checkouts are available at the Annex right across from Evans Library! They offer so many different options, and you’re bound to find something you could use. My personal favorites include the digital camera check-outs, along with the accessories they offer, such as tripods, microphones, and ring lights. If you’re into photography or content creation but don’t want to drop a paycheck on a camera, this is a great option for you! It’s also a way to try out new equipment without the commitment of a purchase. These check-outs are typically a week long, which gives plenty of time to use it for a media day, road trip, or even just for fun! They are also completely free for students! There is a list on the TAMU Library website that shows everything they have available to check-out so be sure to visit it!

Recxercise Passes

RecXercise classes are a fun way to get a workout in! Forget paying hundreds of dollars a year for your pilates membership. With the purchase of an All Access Pass you are allowed to attend as many classes as you wish for the entire semester. This pass is only $50 and is good for the semester during which you purchase it. There are also several classes offered that are completely free throughout the week, but they tend to be early morning, late night, or weekend classes. If you’re unsure about buying the All Access Pass, you can purchase a single visit pass for $5.00, which allows one visit to one class. There are so many class options such as club dance, yoga, pilates, spin, HIIT, kickboxing, and zumba. In my opinion, it is completely worth the one time $50 purchase! The classes are all entertaining and every instructor is amazing!

STUDY ROOM RESERVATIONS

This one is perfect for exam and final weeks! If you enjoy having a place to go when you study, these reservations are going to be your best friend. There are several locations that these rooms are offered at on campus, but my personal favorites have to be the Evans Library group rooms, but there are also group rooms available inside of the Annex. If you’re in the engineering college, you can also reserve rooms at Zachry. It’s best to book a few days in advance if you know that you are in need of a good study session because they tend to book up pretty quickly. There are also individual study rooms that are the perfect environment for an online exam. I’ve attached the link for the group study rooms in Evans, but if you go onto the TAMU Library website, you could find the other options too!

These are just a few of my favorite amenities that are offered here at Texas A&M University! The school has new features that I discover every day, and it never fails to amaze me. I hope you take advantage of these amenities while you attend school here, because you might never have the same opportunities once you graduate!
