5 Reasons I’m So Excited to Go to Olive Garden for Valentine’s Day

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at TAMU chapter.

Thank goodness that my boyfriend knows my love for Olive Garden… and we may have a coupon and gift card… but it still works out, and I am more than excited for this Valentine’s Day Dinner. These are the five reasons that I am looking forward to next Wednesday’s dinner:

The most important reason: The Breadsticks

Have you had their breadsticks? They are unlike anything I have had elsewhere and the best part? Unlimited. I can ask for as many baskets of these things as I want. Pro-Tip: Ask for some more before you finish your meal, that way you can take some home with you in the to-go box.

Unlimited. Pasta. Bowl.

This deal comes around a few times a year and I am there for it. You pay one price, and you can get as many bowls of pasta as you want. I usually tell my boyfriend about this deal that way he can eat as much as he wants, and we won’t leave there with him still hungry. Boys… they need a lot of food to be full. I probably won’t be eating all of Wednesday in preparation for this endless meal.

The Salad

Olive Garden has a salad that I tried to recreate at home with their store bought dressing, but somehow, it never turns out the same. It has everything good a salad could need, and they mix it with their dressing perfectly. The salad is also unlimited, and you know I ask for some more to take home. Pro-Tip: Ask for them to put some cheese sprinkled on it too.

The Pasta

There are so many options to choose from but my go-to pasta is the angel hair alfredo. They make it so much better than when I make it on the stove at home. I also get some cheese sprinkled on my pasta too, and as they say, the more the merrier… so, bring on the cheese.

The Andes Mints

When you pay your bill, they give you a couple of Andes Mints… the ones that are a little piece of chocolate with mint in the middle. These are the best mints ever , and it definitely makes me feel better about paying my bill even if my wallet isn’t too happy about it.

Overall, Olive Garden is perfect for any date night, even if it’s not Valentine’s Day. Anytime my boyfriend and I have date night, I always bring up Olive Garden. Try out the pro-tips, and catch me at the College Station Olive Garden next Wednesday night.
