You’ve Got MALE!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Tampa chapter.

This week we asked SigEp President, Nick Barber, the questions YOU submitted!

What are your thoughts on “college girl nation” Instagram accounts?

I am indifferent in my opinion on these accounts. I don’t feel that they are generally positive or negative. None of the pictures used on these accounts are derogatory towards women in anyway, but they do feed into the concept of idolizing women for their bodies or appearance. The one thing that I don’t understand is the girls that submit photos of themselves to be featured on the Instagram accounts. I think it is rather pointless because the only outcome of it would be to gain Instagram followers or a larger social media presence, which is meaningless for most people.

How many dates should a girl wait before giving it up?

I think that girls should wait for a couple dates. I don’t want to put any specific number on it because it will always vary in different situations. I feel that a girl should wait until they know a little bit about the guy and get a feel for his intentions. It really comes down to the girl’s judgement on the guy that she is meeting. There are genuine men out there and it isn’t bad for a girl to “give it up” quickly. On the other hand there are men who are not genuine and at that time a girl should wait.
