Your New Favorite Coffee Shops in Tampa

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Tampa chapter.

UT’s campus has many places to study, but sometimes I feel as if I need a change of pace.  I’m always looking for new coffee shops to study at; preferably the ones that make me feel like I’m on the set of Pretty Little Liars or One Tree Hill.  Here are some of my favorites in Tampa.

1. Buddy Brew Coffee

If you haven’t been to Buddy Brew yet you should definitely visit this one first.  I have found that they have something for everyone, and the atmosphere is light with good music and classy hipster furnishings.  They also have three different locations close to campus. Those locations include Hyde Park Village, Oxford Exchange, and Kennedy Boulevard.

2. The Attic on Kennedy

This coffee shop/bar has a very social atmosphere and offers many varieties of food as well as coffees and teas.  The main appeal of The Attic on Kennedy is the great outdoor seating complete with a view of downtown Tampa.  Not only does this cool hidden space have free Wi-Fi, but they also have live music on Fridays from 6-9 PM.

3. DI Coffee Bar

DI Coffee Bar is small and has a cozy modern feel.  Inside there are large tables and seating options that all sit under a cool skylight.  DI Coffee Bar also has outdoor seating that’s dog friendly! (Basically I’m telling you there will be dogs and if that’s not incentive enough to go then I don’t know what is.)

4. Foundation Coffee

Foundation Coffee is a bright open space with outdoor seating and a friendly atmosphere.  With a solid selection of coffee and gluten free homemade pastries you probably won’t want to leave.  It truly is a great place to study.

5. Tre Amici At the Bunker

With its exposed brick walls and quirky art pieces hung throughout the shop, Tre Amici at the Bunker has a relaxed eclectic feel.  They have a full café menu with vegetarian options as well, not to mention 10% off with your student ID. They also have an online calendar with various fun events.  BTW, this place is very reminiscent of Karen’s Café in OTH.

6. Felicitous Coffee & Tea House

This quaint house converted into a coffee and tea shop is just one of those little gems of Tampa that provides a sense of being home. There’s even a backyard and patio outside where open mic nights are held once a month.  They also have different vegan and vegetarian options on the café menu.
