Throwback Thursday: 7 Bedroom Essentials Of Your Childhood

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Tampa chapter.

You wouldn’t think that bedrooms go through trends, but they certainly do. Really awesome glowing, neon, inflatable trends that were not only vital to the essence of your sleep space, but for impressing your friends from school when they came over too, of course.

1. Glow-in-the-dark Ceiling Stars- Dad was so happy when the adhesive never came off the ceiling years later…

2. See Through Phones- Before there were talks of an all-glass iPhone, there was the See Through Conair Phone, which was easily the coolest thing my older sister had. Bonus points if you had your own line to gab with your friends all hours of the night.

3. Water Beds- Just try not to fall asleep with scissors for in your hands.

4. Inflatable Furniture- Who cares if that tiny hole on the left side had half of your butt on the ground while sitting, it was still the coolest looking thing you ever sat on.

5. Bean Bag Chairs- Holes were also detrimental to this piece of trendy movie-watching furniture as well.

6. Lava Lamps- A groovy alternative to that Care bears night-light you so grew out of.

7. Nintendo 64- Even though it will always be remembered as the greatest gaming system to ever exist, Nintendo 64 quickly grew extinct by its many competitors (*R.I.P.*). However, if you find someone who still owns and uses one, befriend them now and never let them go.

Savannah was born and raised in Ocean City, New Jersey on the beach, sparking such a love for the ocean that she majored in Marine Biology for a whole two semesters and hardly made it out alive. You can find her anywhere on campus balancing cookies on a to-go box from the café or with her headphones in listening to music, so make sure to say "hi" loud enough!
