This winter was a particularly slow one. After another hectic year, it felt right to use the colder months for inner work rather than physical manifestation. Winter is the most natural time to rest; even plants fall dormant to prepare for spring. I really focused on mirroring this process over the last few months.

Being a college student, it was often hard to balance work with rest. Sometimes it felt like physical labor was the only way to achieve my goals– working seemed like the only option. I’ve been feeling this way more and more in the last few weeks, and as the days have gotten longer, I’ve had a much stronger urge to be productive.

If you’ve been feeling this too, you might be feeling the energy of the Spring Equinox. Energetically, it is a time for rebirth, rejuvenation, and focusing your energy back outward after a long winter of looking in. Your spirit might be feeling a sense of creativity and hope at this time.

Before the equinox, it is natural to feel energetically off-balance, but with this important day comes a refreshing spiritual change. Finally, the slow winter energy is lifting, and we can experience a fresh start.
