Roaring Twenties Fashion: It’s a Celebration!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Tampa chapter.

When I think of Roaring Twenties’ fashion, I immediately think of the iconic flapper girl style that is, now-a-days, really only worn for costume purposes, and not streetwear. I would like to protest this! Fashion trends have quickly passed through the early 2000’s, and we are now starting to see more of what TikTok is calling “Twilight Core” from the early 2010’s. This style is very simple and practical: the variety comes from layering basics, rather than accessorizing, and I think roaring twenties fashion could really add some spice to the fashion world right now!

We are finally starting to get back into the world, and as we are coming out of isolation it would be so fun to dress like it’s a celebration! I don’t know about you, but I thought 2020 would be just like The Great Gatsby. I thought it would be flashy, fun, and bright, and, of course, that didn’t really turn out as planned, but I would like to officially vote for us to start our Roaring Twenties era now!

Here are some accessories to add a roaring twenties flare to your style:

  • Beaded material
  • Headbands
  • Glittery hair pieces
  • Ribbons
  • Thin gloves
  • Feathers
  • Boas
  • Drop waist dresses
  • Long pearl necklaces
  • Long earrings
  • Stockings
  • Fans
  • Small clutch bags

It would be such a dream to live through a fashion era like this, so I am excited to see which of these elements come back into style. I’m ready to finally go out and dress like it’s a celebration! I hope this gives you some inspiration to mix up your style too!
