Podcasts That You Probably Should Know Of (But Probably Don’t)

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Tampa chapter.

If you’re between the ages of 16-24 and someone says “name a podcast,” it’s pretty likely Call Her Daddy will come to mind. We all have listened to, or at least know of, Call Her Daddy (if you haven’t, where have you been?)  Don’t get me wrong, it’s a good podcast, but here are a few that I like even better. Don’t worry, they are no less explicit and are sure to entertain you for an hour while you’re driving, cleaning, or stuck in the mid-semester slump.

The Bitch Bible

When someone asks what my all-time favorite podcast is, I tell them The Bitch Bible with Jackie Schimmel. I couldn’t even begin to explain what it’s about, but if you love offensive humor, making fun of celebrities, or hating on girls named Katie who are a part of a pyramid scheme, you will be obsessed with this podcast. Warning: Only for the morally flexible.

Everything Iconic

If you love The Real Housewives or other Bravo TV shows as much as I do, you will love Everything Iconic with Danny Pellegrino. If you’re more of a Bachelor reality TV person, you won’t like this. You will listen to ten episodes in a row of this podcast, start calling all shirts “blouses” (you’ll understand if you listen to the podcast), and wish that Danny was your best friend. It is the perfect mix of funny but also very insightful commentary into the complexities of reality TV.

Okay, so I ran out of podcasts that were comparable to Call Her Daddy. As it turns out, it’s pretty hard to be as… much as Alex Cooper (although, I would definitely give it to Jackie and Danny).

Honorable Mentions:

Anything Goes with Emma Chamberlain:

You may have stopped liking her in 10th grade, but I’d give this one a listen! She talks about issues that face all of us as young adults, making it both relatable and wildly entertaining.

Not Skinny But Not Fat:

A good podcast if you like all sorts of reality TV. Amanda interviews celebrities from different TV shows, giving us the inside scoop.

Recovering from Reality:

Does anyone remember “Nancy Jo, it’s Alexis Niers calling?” Well, Alexis Niers is now Alexis Haines and she is here to tell you all of the crazy stories from her life in the spotlight, as well as how she and her guests have healed and how they take care of themselves in their day-to-day lives.

Hopefully one of these will become your new go-to Podcast for when you are (insert countless podcast listening-to activities here).
