I know this semester is wearing everyone down. We are going to make it to the end, but until then, here’s a list of silly little things you can do if you are feeling burnt out:
- Make miso soup in a mason jar and drink it in Plant Park.
- Walk to the docks at the end of the riverwalk and eat a sugar cookie there.
- Take a hot shower with fancy soaps and oils that smell like lavender.
- Read a collection of folk tales. I would recommend “Lilith’s Cave.”
- Add some lemon and orange peels to boiling water and steam your face.
- Make a fun little drink but pretend it’s a healing potion and imagine it waking your brain back up.
- Pretend you are a fairy, and do your makeup with lots of sparkles and squiggly eyeliner.
- Cook your favorite childhood meal and share it with a friend.
- Try to telepathically talk to the campus squirrels and write down what they say in your diary.
- Try a new loose-leaf tea or spice blend from a local shop.
I hope you can replace some of your stressful moments with these and lighten the mood this fall. Good luck; we are almost there!
