I know this semester is wearing everyone down. We are going to make it to the end, but until then, here’s a list of silly little things you can do if you are feeling burnt out:

  1. Make miso soup in a mason jar and drink it in Plant Park.
  1. Walk to the docks at the end of the riverwalk and eat a sugar cookie there.
  1. Take a hot shower with fancy soaps and oils that smell like lavender.
  1. Read a collection of folk tales. I would recommend “Lilith’s Cave.”
  1. Add some lemon and orange peels to boiling water and steam your face.
  1. Make a fun little drink but pretend it’s a healing potion and imagine it waking your brain back up.
  1. Pretend you are a fairy, and do your makeup with lots of sparkles and squiggly eyeliner.
  1. Cook your favorite childhood meal and share it with a friend.
  1. Try to telepathically talk to the campus squirrels and write down what they say in your diary.
  1. Try a new loose-leaf tea or spice blend from a local shop.

I hope you can replace some of your stressful moments with these and lighten the mood this fall. Good luck; we are almost there!
