Let’s be responsible and not go to Halloween parties this year. It’s seriously not worth putting your health and other people’s health at risk. This doesn’t mean that Halloween is canceled or that you can’t have fun this year. There’s tons of COVID safe activities you can participate in while being safe. So, I present to you the ultimate Halloween bucket list for 2020:

  • Go pick out some pumpkins to carve (an obvious fall activity). Save the seeds of your carved pumpkins and roast them in the oven with whatever seasonings you’d like.

  • Get some mini pumpkins and paint them!

  • Host a spooky sip and paint with friends.

  • Host a virtual costume contest with friends and decide on a fun prize for the winner.

  • Decorate your front door. You could even have your friends participate and make it a group activity.

  • Give yourself a fun fall-inspired manicure.

  • Decorate a haunted gingerbread house.

  • Host a movie marathon on Netflix party. Watch all the spooky season staples: Hocus Pocus, Halloweentown, Scream, Beetlejuice, Casper, etc.

  • Read a scary book or some short stories.

  • Make a spooky-themed dessert. There are so many cute recipes out there so get creative!

  • Go to a drive-thru movie.

  • Do some scary makeup and have a photo shoot.

  • Have a dance party to Halloween music – do the Monster Mash!

  • DIY some decor and decorate your dorm or apartment. You can also do some store-bought fall and Halloween crafts if you’re not a fan of DIY.

  • Go to a drive-thru Halloween experience. There’s one in Orlando called “The Haunted Road”.

  • Find some Halloween or fall-themed fabric and make some facemasks. You can even make a bunch with your friends and donate them!

  • Eat some candy corn but immediately remember that you don’t even like it that much.

  • Participate in a virtual escape room with a group or by yourself. They even have a Hogwarts one for you Harry Potter fans!

  • Participate in Trick-or-Treat for Unicef.

  • Leave bags of goodies and candy for your roommates or for your floormates.

  • Learn about the Blue Moon happening on Oct. 31 and camp out underneath it. You can charge your crystals, make moon water, or meditate.

  • Have a ghost photo shoot! There’s tons of inspiration for this on TikTok.

  • Find some local Halloween events that you’d be comfortable attending.

  • Drive around Bayshore and look at front yard decorations.

  • Paint some rocks as spooky characters and place them around campus or around the city for others to find.

  • Make a fall-themed charcuterie board and eat it at a picnic with friends.

  • If you have a backyard, have a bonfire and make s’mores.

  • Have a candy count. Fill a jar up with candy and have all your friends guess how many are in the jar. Whoever guessed the closest wins a prize.

  • Make spooky cocktails or mocktails!

  • Set up your essential oil diffuser in a cauldron (they’re $1 at the Dollar Tree) and add some fake spider web around the diffuser.

  • Dress up your pet in a cute costume and go for a walk.

  • Finally, eat a bunch of pumpkin-flavored things!

Oh, and wear a mask!!
