Five questions every college kid hates getting asked on Thanksgiving

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Tampa chapter.

Thanksgiving is coming up and we can’t wait to finally take a break from classes and the campus food. Everyone seems to love this holiday; and what’s not to love? The day is centered around family, friends, and food (my personal favorite), as well as being grateful for what you have. Despite all that, everyone has that one relative or two that likes to interrogate you and ask inappropriate questions at the dinner table. If you want to get a head start on preparing yourself for what to say, here are a few questions that are bound to come up during Thanksgiving dinner.

1. “What are your plans after you graduate?”

Ask me that question next Thanksgiving.

2. “Have you gained some weight since the last time I saw you?”

It’s called the Can’t Afford Anything But Easy Mac Diet. What’s your excuse?

3.  “How are your classes going?”

I think the real question here is, “how’s netflix going?”

4. “Is that your second glass of wine?”

If only they knew about MacDinton’s Friday Happy Hour…

5.  “Do you have a boyfriend?”

Nope…still forever alone, grandpa.

I'm a senior Journalism major and Communications minor at the University of Tampa. Born and raised in New Jersey, I naturally gravitated to the sunshine state. Career goal: magazine writer/editor. I'm the campus cutie/celeb editor for Her Campus at my school. Besides that, I'm obsessed with anything Disney and enjoy working out at the gym, going to yoga, shopping, watching movies and going out with friends, as well as long walks on the beach. Some of my guilty pleasures include anything peanut butter, pina coladas, the Lion King movie, Jacuzzis, and tattoos. Fun fact: I still can't swim.
