Whether choosing a movie with my family, friends, or kids, my go-to type of film is a mystery. Mystery is a great genre to keep everyone engaged. I will always prefer exciting and shocking films. I love getting sucked into a movie and trying to figure it out. The twists and turns of the plot always drop jaws. I just love when gasps from the audience follow, and the revelation in their minds appears in their eyes!
If you think about it, making up mysteries is a difficult task; that takes some serious talent. All the details and foreshadowing can be added to the stories. You want the viewer to look back and realize all the little hints. It must take time to create a masterpiece of a story. I am grateful for it. It keeps my brain going and creativity flowing.
If you grew up on Scooby-Doo and Nancy Drew, you may be interested in the mystery genre. The shows and books give great mysteries for kids. They are a great way to escape reality for both young and older people.
I understand that some people may not feel the same way. If you have never given a mystery movie a chance, try a few of my suggestions below. Pick one and have fun getting lost in the world of mystery.
