7 LDR Valentine’s Day Ideas

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Tampa chapter.

You’re not single, yet you can’t go on a date with your bf like every other couple. Well, I say it doesn’t matter how far away you are from your Valentine this year, we all deserve to have a romantic day celebrating our love with our significant other.

1. Skype Date

You don’t have to go to an overpriced crowded restaurant for it to be a date. Set a time, maybe put on some makeup and a cute outfit, and have a romantic Skype session where you’re not doing anything on the computer but solely chatting with your boy.

2. Send them a surprise gift

Who doesn’t love presents!? Send your significant other something sweet to let them know you’re thinking about them, even if they are far away. Edible Arrangements have stores all over the country, or even just a simple card would do. You could even plan this with your Skype date, having them open it up with you over Skype.

3Send them a date in a box

Go a little further and send them a whole date, wrap up some wine, a card, a CD with your favorite music, some sweets of course and something with your scent on it like a teddy bear or a pillow.

4. Send fun coupons

A coupon book to redeem the next time you’re together, “come visit you, make you breakfast in bed, have a picnic in the park,or a movie marathon!”

5. Watch the same movie

Pick a movie and start it at the same time so it’s like you’re watching the movie together! That way you can talk about it, as its playing while you’re cuddled up in bed, instead of at the crowded theater watching the premier of 50 Shades with the entire female population.

6. Make dinner “together”

Just like the movie, try a new recipe and both make it at dinnertime. You can enjoy it “together” and talk about how it turned out. Depending on the locations you are in, try making a staple food from their state/country and make them try a traditional food from your home.

7. Take a trip down memory lane

Agree to spend the day talking about all the cute times you’ve had together. Try to think back on what you were doing together this time last year or years prior. Send old pictures back and forth and quote your funniest moments.
