5 Apps That Every Girl Needs On Their Phone

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Tampa chapter.

In this day and age everyone has a cell phone and we are using them constantly. So, why not put our cell phone addiction to good use? Here are 5 useful apps that will help make your life easier.

1. Period Diary

This app tracks your period, fertility and ovulation.  On the main screen there are 6 petals with a yellow center. Tapping on the yellow center starts your period, and when you tap it again it ends it. The other petals consist of sections for calendar, forum, period log, settings and you can also add notes!

2. Hair Color Booth

Habe you ever wanted to go crazy and dye your hair, but didn’t want to make any real commitment? This is the app for you. You upload a photo of yourself to this app and you can see if you like that color you’ve been eyeing in the Walgreens aisle, or you just want to spice up your Instagram selfie.

3. myPILL

This app is perfect for women who are constantly on the go. Sometimes you forget to take your pill or forget the last time you last took it. This app sets an alarm so you’re reminded to take your pill everyday. For other forms of contraception such as the NuvaRing or Patch, this app reminds you when you should change them. You can also add notes if you were spotting, missed a pill or started your period early.

4. KillSwitch

Breaking up with a boyfriend is always painful, but the most painful part is logging in on Facebook and having to untag, unfriend, and delete all the lovey dovey posts that you guys created. This app is the secret assassin of digital age breakups. The app selects a “target” and then proceeds to delete all your photos, and timeline references and even statuses. One perk is that your ex will not be notified of this, that way you can heal and move on.

For those people who wish to not delete everything just incase you rekindle friendship or want to gossip to your girlfriends later about him or her, the app gives you the option of making a secret folder.

5. FidMe

Have you ever been shopping in the mall and when you’re finally ready to check out, you discover that your loyalty card is at home? Or, is your wallet getting too full with all of your cards? This app is perfect for carrying all of your loyalty cards to all of your favorite stores. All you do is scan the barcode and they’re in your phone. This app also allows you to upload your coupons and look at stores near you for the best deals.
