October is a magical time of year. There is a slight breeze in the air, the creepy decorations come out, pumpkins are everywhere, and your Pinterest board is filled with potential costume ideas for Halloween. However, one of the most important factors of this chilling season, aside from the tricks, are definitely the treats. If you are the least bit excited about Halloween and food as my family and I are, you need to check out these top picks for the best spooky, edible creation Food Network shows!

  1. Halloween Wars

Airing every Sunday night at 9 p.m. EST, Halloween Wars is a classic. It has an amazing selection that will send shivers down your spine. The season, only containing five episodes, adds a great splash of Halloween spirit to your week! And it is hosted by none other than Jonathan Bennett, aka. Aaron Samuels from Mean Girls! If that doesn’t get you hooked, then maybe the wicked creations of six teams made up of one pumpkin carver, one cake artist, and one sugar artist will do the trick. The displays they create are frightening, yet truly incredible. The show is also known to bring in celebrity guest judges, including Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin Henderson from Stranger Things), which are a pleasant surprise.

  1.  Halloween Baking Championship

If one show during the week isn’t enough to satisfy your Halloween spirits, Halloween Baking Championship on Monday at 9 p.m. EST. should be your next go-to. With seven episodes to binge watch, bakers on the show must create both visually appealing and delicious desserts in a haunted house. While undergoing many challenges that put their culinary skills to the test! With realistic recipes to create and enjoy at home, this show has great inspiration for those looking to get creative in the kitchen this fall. Also, who doesn’t love a good high-stress baking moment?

  1. Halloween Freakshow Cakes

Lastly, Halloween Freakshow Cakes, with double premieres on Sunday, October 18 at 10pm EST and Sunday, October 25 at 10 p.m. ET, is an excellent choice. This show evokes the right amount of fear with the right amount of hunger for dessert. With three professional cake artists fighting to create the freakiest cakes for $5,000, the intensity and Halloween inspiration are through the roof!
