Ultimate Spring Break Packing List

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Syracuse chapter.

Spring Break is here, and it’s time to escape the cold for some fun in the sun!

Fear not! Here is To help you out, I’ve designed a fool- proof packing list to keep you camera-ready for an action-packed Spring Break!

1. Sunscreen

We all want to turn into a bronze goddess! So it’s super important to lather on that sunscreen, or else you might end up lookin’ like a lobster.

2. Lip Moisturizer

Just because you ran away from winter doesn’t mean you can stop caring about your lips. If you don’t keep them hydrated, by the time you’re back on campus they will be completely chopped.

3. Baseball or Wide brimmed hat

There is no such thing as too much sun protection! You will be spending endless hours outside and sometimes it may be easy to forget that your scalp burns too!

4. Sunglasses

These are a must! And since they take up minimal space you can pack more than one. Whether you want to add a little extra detail to your outfit, check out that cutie without him noticing, or hide the fact that you’ve been getting no sleep from all the fun, these will come in handy.

5. Bathing Suits

Bring AT LEAST three bathing suits! You will live in these and they have little to no volume. You can even stuff them inside your shoes or in a small pocket. There are so many different styles out there that you are bound to find whatever your heart desires.

6. Pair of Cute Flip-Flops

Whether spending some time at the beach or exploring the city, these will be your best friend.

7. Pair of Embellished sandals

Since you will probably be going to the beach for most of the parties, flats are a better option. They can be just as cute as a pair of heels and are a lot more comfortable!

8. Pair of Running Shoes

Whether you wear them on the flight or during your morning hike, it is always good to have a trusty pair of closed toed shoes with you.

9. Two Pareos

These are great to just throw-on or use as a beach towel when you want to lie on the sand to tan. If you want to get creative, there are tons of ideas on websites such as Pinterest on how to tie your pareo.

10. White, Black or Gray Tank Tops

Tank tops of these varying colors match almost anything and are great for basic layering.

11. Cardigan

These are perfect for nights out on the town when it gets a little chilly!

12. Daytime Dress

It wouldn’t be Spring Break without a colorful daytime dress! It’s easy to throw on and perfect for those days after you got a little too much sun (which will not happen if you remember to lather on that sunscreen).

13. Evening Dress

Whether it is a fancy dinner with friends or an important event, you will not be caught off guard!

14. Two Skirts or Shorts

Whether you like the high-low, high-waisted, short shorts, circle skirts, A-line skirts… You will be wearing these anytime a pareo is inappropriate.

15. White Oversized Button Down

This is another great item with dual purpose. You can throw it over your bathing suit or tuck it into a nice skirt for a night out.

16. Tunic

It’s always a good idea to bring a nicer top. You never know when you’re going to need something a little fancier, maybe even for an impromptu date!

17. Jewelry

Some people say jewelry is not meant to be worn during beach vacations, but I disagree. I think it’s the perfect way to spice up an outfit and it’s a lot easier to carry than twenty different dresses.

18. Canvas Carry-On Tote

This is essentially going to be the only bag you use! It will be your carry-on on the plane, your beach bag, and your everyday purse.

19. Clutch or Wallet

Ok, maybe not the only bag… It’s always good to have something for the evening, and if you are looking to save space just use your gorgeous wallet as one!

20. Pair of Jeans

These are primarily for the airport, but might be useful for a colder night or a day spent at the local museum.
