Our days are numbered here at Syracuse for the year, with just over a week of classes left, and a few short days before Mayfest.

But before you head out to enjoy Friday’s festivities, if you’re in the mood for some legitimate intellectual stimulation, consider heading over to Hendricks on Monday morning, to see Secretary of State Hillary Clinton speak. Full details on this exciting event here: http://www.dailyorange.com/news/hillary-clinton-to-speak-on-foreign-policy-at-hendricks-chapel-monday-1.2854350#.T5R9QtX2KSo

Not everyone is happy to see Clinton coming to campus, though. A ‘Cuse student group, Act Now to Stop War and End Racism, plans to protest her visit. See their reasons why here:  http://www.dailyorange.com/news/student-group-to-protest-clinton-s-visit-to-su-1.2856002#.T5R9RdX2KSo

It wouldn’t feel right not to have at least one sports story this week, so here we go: SU’s football program is upgrading its football complex (again) with a $5 million dollar project expected to be completed before next year’s season begins. Get all the details here: http://washingtonexaminer.com/sports/2012/04/syracuse-university-upgrading-football-complex/509371

And finally, I’ll end with one of the more inane stories I’ve encountered on the Internet lately: school officials in New York are crying foul, over a series of question on standardized test for local eighth-graders. The story, entitled “The Hare and the Pineapple” features a talking fruit, among other nonsensical plot devices. Read the full story, and more details about this ridiculous turn of events here: http://www.syracuse.com/news/index.ssf/2012/04/new_york_says_pineapple_and_ha.html
