Which of your activities is most rewarding and why?

My community relations internship with the Syracuse Crunch is super rewarding. I work a lot with kids from the Syracuse community and it is so amazing to see how the work I do makes them so happy. Whether they get to win a prize on the Crunch Prize Wheel or they get to come to a Crunch game for free through our community ticket program, the looks on their faces are what reassure me that the hard work is worth it. I have always loved working with kids, so that kind of interaction with kids in the Syracuse community is extremely fulfilling.

Favorite place on campus:
For food: Blinker Deli (you can’t beat the sour cream and
onion bagels there)

In general: The Quad (it’s so pretty and green and when the weather is nice I could sit there for hours)

Favorite place to study: Either in my room in my apartment or the basement of Bird

Library in those quiet cubbies.

Favorite thing about ‘Cuse: The atmosphere in the student section at basketball games in the Dome. Words can’t describe the energy level. And I’m obsessed with anything sport-related so it’s the best thing ever.

Least favorite thing about ‘Cuse: I have always wished Syracuse was a teeny bit closer to Boston because Boston is my favorite place in the entire world. Five hours is a long drive just to spend the weekend in Boston so the one thing I’d change about Syracuse would be to move it about three hours east of here.

Dream job: President of the Boston Red Sox Charitable Foundation

Role Models: My mom and grandmothers have always been an inspiration to me.

They are all such hard-working women and instilled a lot of great values in me when

I was younger. They are always super supportive of everything that I do and it makes the rough spots in life so much easier to know that women like them are proud of me regardless of what does or doesn’t work out.

Activities: Vice President of the Women In Sports and Events group on campus (WISE-SU). Member of the Sport Management Club. Member of Gamma Phi Beta Sorority. Community Relations intern at the Syracuse Crunch. Cashier at CVS.

Stephanie is a senior at Syracuse University studying magazine journalism and psychology. She has been writing for Hercampus.com/Syracuse since her freshman year and has had two different beats: opinionated articles and study abroad tales. Stephanie is also involved with her sorority Gamma Phi Beta and writes for various mediums including The Daily Orange, 'Cuse Clothing Line and Medley Magazine.
