If you are experiencing Syracuse weather for the first time, or one of those upperclassmen waiting for spring to get here soon, you know that the gray skies and snow will be here for a couple months to come. So to cheer up your mood in this nasty weather, here are some fun (cheap) things to do to with your friends to cheer you up during the nasty winter cold.

1.      Have a themed movie night!
Yes this might sound obvious and you might do this all the time when trying to avoid doing homework, but this time have a theme to go along with the movie. If you are watching chick-flicks, only buy pink colored candy or ice cream. If you are watching scary movies, then make dirt or mud if you call it that with chocolate pudding, Oreo cookies, and gummy worms.

2.      Mani/Pedi Spa Night
Get all your friends to bring all their nail polish colors so you have a variety to choose from. Homemade facial masks are easy to make in the dorm and your skin will feel fresh and clean (and they make for really funny pictures). Get your makeup brushes out and search Youtube for different makeup ideas and try them out. You might be surprised and maybe find a new look for when you go out on the weekends.

3.      Closet Swap
Have all your friends bring all their clothes that they are bored with or don’t wear and mix and match them to make new outfits. This way you will never get tired of wearing the same clothes and look super cute! Just make sure everyone is willing to share.

These are just some fun ideas to switch your day up and keep you from getting the SU weather blues.
