The Holiday Guide: Clothes Edition

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Syracuse chapter.

I always have a few lavish holiday parties to attend with my mom when I get home from Syracuse for winter break. They each have a few hundred people trying to look stunning. Even though I may not know all of them I try to outdo them — let’s say to show who has the best outfit. Holiday clothing in my opinion is hard to find, especially outfits that look good and make you really look dressed to impress.

The few things that I found that were perfect for holiday gatherings featured sparkles somewhere. Whether they’re on a skirt, dress or even shoes, sparkles scream holiday. Pair a shimmering piece up with a black lace shirt, black pumps, or a black flowy or tight dress. The accessories for this kind of outfit are vital as well so make sure they add another layer of sparkle. Everyone will do a double take when they see you!

If sparkle is not your thing perhaps try a one shoulder black dress with red pumps (or another bold color) for a more dramatic look. Red heels are a showstopper since they stand out wherever you go. Bright colored dresses are also an option with nude or black pumps for a more simple but pretty look. You can find these outfits at Steve Madden, Express, Nordstrom, Some Girl’s Boutique, and Macy’s.
