5 Organizations to Join this Semester

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Syracuse chapter.

One of the most defining elements of your college experience is getting involved in student organizations. It can be overwhelming to sift through the multitudes of organizations to find which ones you truly want to join. Sometimes, you won’t even hear about many of the amazing organizations in the first place. In order to make the research process a little bit easier on you, here are five fantastic organizations at Syracuse University that you should definitely consider joining!

  1. Residence Hall Association (RHA)

The Residence Hall Association is led by an executive board of students who oversee and attempt to make res-life as enjoyable and fulfilling as possible for their residents. A lot of incoming college students find it extremely difficult to adjust to dorm life, and what better way to help them through this time than by contributing your genius ideas to the RHA executive board? If you are not ready to commit to meeting every Tuesday evening, you can sign up (before February 15th) to join RHA on their 2016 Passion Retreat! This retreat is an overnight trip to White Eagle Conference Center that encourages students to find their inner passion. To learn more about this club visit http://rha.syr.edu/.

  1. I Am THAT Girl SU

I Am THAT Girl SU is the Syracuse University chapter of an organization designed to foster a supportive community and an environment that allows women to be comfortable in their own skin. As a new club, having just come to campus in the Fall 2015 semester, the club is looking for women that want to promote this community as a thriving safe space.

  1. She’s the First

The Syracuse University chapter of She’s the First’s main mission is to help provide education to girls in developing nations by sponsoring a child and paying her tuition. For the 2015-16 school year, the chapter is continuing to sponsor Mbithe Puis, a schoolgirl from Kenya. By becoming part of this wonderful organization, you will be a key helper in allowing Mbithe to succeed when she otherwise would not be able to afford schooling.
