Every year around Halloween, there are many Halloween-themed events and parties that celebrities either orchestrate or attend and when they do they make sure to make their mark. From the most intricately designed, over-the-top ensembles to the more simpler and elegant pieces, celebrities sure know how to conquer Halloween. We took a look back at celebrity costumes over the years, and these are certainly some of the best!
 
1. Heidi Klum, “Kali the Hindu god”
 
In 2008, Heidi Klum’s costume slayed— literally. There were little fake heads (apparently cut off from a sacrifice) draped around her waist and skulls around her neck. No doubt, Heidi went all out with this amazing ensemble!

 

2. Keri Hilson & Serge Ibaka, Nefertiti and Pharaoh

Keri Hilson and her significant other, Serge, had one of the most extravagant costumes last Halloween. Elegantly dressed as an Egyptian king and queen, they were absolutely flawless, and they even had a horse! This pair deserves an award for Best Couple’s Halloween Costume.

 

3. Fabolous and Family, The Addams Family

Rapper Fabolous and his family always do a superb job on Halloween. In 2014, their rendition of The Addams Family was like none other. Can you say brilliant?!

 

4. Beyonce, Bumblebee

If it isn’t the Queen Bee herself, dressed up as… the Queen Bee herself! In 2011, Beyonce, who was pregnant with daughter Blue Ivy, made a simple yet elegant appearance to the Gypsy Halloween Bash dressed as a bumblebee.

 

5. Anne Hathaway, Egyptian Goddess

In 2004, Anne Hathaway attended Heidi Klum’s fifth annual Halloween party at the Marquee in New York City dressed as an Egyptian goddess. She looked absolutely stunning!

 

6. Heidi Klum, Butterfly

In 2014, Heidi elaborately graced us with her presence again in the most unique butterfly costume ever. The costume included gigantic wings and reflective prosthetic eyes. She said it took her five whole hours to put all of it on— we can see why!

Rihanna seems to tie with Heidi Klum for always having some of the most over the top Halloween costumes. In 2014, Rihanna was Raphael from TMNT. This costume was so well conceived that it literally looked like the wardrobe from the set of the next TMNT movie.

 

8. Alessandra Ambrosio, Snow Leopard

The Brazilian model and actress showed up at a Halloween party in Hollywood as the fiercest snow leopard out there. She even had jewel-encrusted cat ears!

 

9. Beyonce & Blue Ivy, Janet and Michael Jackson

Nothing is more adorable than this mommy-daughter duo. Beyonce as Janet Jackson and Blue Ivy as Michael Jackson definitely turned heads on Halloween in portrayal of two of the most esteemed music icons in the business.

 

10. Rita Ora, Barbie

In 2014, Rita Ora looked so pretty draped in pink from head to toe as she arrived at a Halloween party in London. Although she was all dolled up, she lacked the perfect Ken— but that’s fine because she looked beautiful all by herself.

 

11. Rihanna, Zombie Gangsta

In 2013, Rihanna’s costume was deadly. She gave the “living dead” a new look with this very gangster zombie costume.

 

12. Lucy Hale, Twitter Bird

In 2014, Lucy Hale from Pretty Little Liars had quite a unique costume. As the infamous turquoise Twitter bird, she was the perfect example of the influence of social media in our everyday lives.

 

13. Iggy Azalea, Cruella De Vil

In 2014, Iggy attended the Vevo Halloween Party as Cruella De Vil from one of Disney’s most classic films and even brought a four-legged friend to compliment her look!
