When thinking about restoration, the ideas of healing and renewal come to mind. Every day, we witness and hear about accidents, injuries, and distress. The pain that some people go through on a daily basis is hard to even contemplate. The depression, anxiety, and fear that transpires when someone is unhealthy or injured puts them in a state of mind where they feel hopeless.

Whether physically or mentally, you may be in a condition currently that makes you feel like there is no chance of getting healthy again. While I can’t promise you instantaneous healing, I can promise you that there is a God who has the power to do the unimaginable. All throughout the Bible, there are true stories about Jesus healing the sick, paralyzed, blind, and demon-possessed. Men and women traveled far distances to ask Jesus to heal them. Some just wanted to get close enough to touch Jesus, knowing his presence had the power to cure all diseases. Many of the people who had been healed by Jesus had one thing in common: faith. They knew Jesus had the ability to renew and restore them.

We should recognize and learn from these biblical miracles. Jesus was the ultimate healer years ago, and he continues to cure our minds and bodies now. While we may not know his reason for our sufferings, we can have faith that Christ will restore us at his perfect timing. He will give us the strength to overcome no matter what kind of illness or injury we may have. There is always a purpose behind our pain. God gives heavy burdens to those who can carry their weight. Whether it’s to introduce people to Jesus, share the Gospel, or be an example of God’s power, we know that our affliction will be used to bring glory to the Lord most high.

Next time you must deal with pain and suffering remember to be…

1)    UNDERSTANDING– God has a specific purpose for your situation!

2)    PEACEFUL– God will never give you more than you can handle!

3)    APPRECIATIVE– God will use your pain in extraordinary ways!

4)    HOPEFUL– God has the power to heal you!
